Are you in the final phase of your Master studies or already working in a scientific team and considering whether you would like to or should start a Ph.D. after graduation? Perhaps your professor has already suggested a doctorate to you?
The decision for or against a Ph.D. depends not only on a suitable topic, but also on clarifying a variety of organizational and personal questions. What do I want to achieve with my Ph.D.? Which doctoral path is the right one for me? How do I find a topic and a supervisor? What formalities and regulations do I have to take into account (admission, status, scientific supervisor & supervision agreements, etc.)? What financing options are possible? And where can I find support?
You will receive input from doctoral researchers and doctoral graduates on these important topics and can ask your individual questions. The event will take place online via Zoom in English.
This event is jointly organized by the Career Service, Division 1: Planning, Statistics, Research Affairs and the Potsdam Graduate School.
